IBM to buy digital agency Aperto
Enterprise IT vendor IBM announced its deal to acquire Aperto, Berlin-based digital agency.

Aperto will become IBM’s second acquisition of a digital agency in one week.

Aperto 300-plus employees will join the IBM Interactive Experience (IBM iX) team, supporting IBM’s growth in Germany, the largest economy in Europe.

Customers of Aperto include Airbus Group, Volkswagen and Siemens. Dirk Buddensiek is the CEO of Aperto.

IBM iX is the largest global digital agency, according to Ad Age Agency Report –2014 & 2015. IBM’s digital agency clients include Nationwide, Jaguar’s Landrover, Citi and Wimbledon.

“IBM iX is a global market leader in experience design, which is emerging as an essential element in all business strategy,” said Paul Papas, global leader, IBM Interactive Experience.

IBM has identified a growing need for digital, strategy and design skills at the edge of business strategy. Last week, IBM announced its decision to acquire US-based digital agency Resource/Ammirati. IBM launched its global headquarters for the Watson Internet of Things (IoT) unit in Munich in December 2015.
