Global shipments of connected display screens for digital signage will grow from 21.2 million units in 2023 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.6 percent to reach 36.6 million units by 2028.

The number of connected digital signage displays in active use is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 10.3 percent during the next five years from 91.5 million units in 2023 to 149.4 million units in 2028, Berg Insight forecasts.
Leading providers of digital signage solutions include CMS software providers such as Scala (owned by STRATACACHE) as well as Uniguest, Navori and Poppulo; media player vendors such as BrightSign, AOPEN (owned by Acer Group), Giada, IBASE, Shuttle and IAdea; and display manufacturers such as Samsung, LG, PPDS (Philips) and Sharp NEC Display Solutions.
Despite many well-known vendors active in the market, the value chain is still fragmented and hundreds of companies compete worldwide. Industry consolidation took a pause during the Covid-19 pandemic and has now regained momentum.
Berg Insight anticipates that the M&A activity will accelerate in the coming years as digital signage not only affirms its place as a central platform for digital marketing but increasingly becomes critical for business operations in many verticals.
