IDC has revealed global market share of top 5 tablet makers in Q2 2013. Apple leads the tablet space with 32.4 percent market share.

Samsung is in second place.

IDC says Q2 tablet shipment dipped sequentially by 9.7 percent from Q1 2013.

On year-on-year basis, tablet shipments rose 59.6 percent to 45.1 million from 28.3 million.

Apple shipped 14.6 million units in Q2 against 19.5 million in Q1.

Samsung shipped 8.1 million units against 8.6 million.

Asus shipped 2 million units in Q2 compared with 2.6 million in Q1.

“With no new iPads, the market slowed for many vendors, and that’s likely to continue into the third quarter. However, by the fourth quarter we expect new products from Apple, Amazon, and others to drive impressive growth in the market,” said Tom Mainelli, research director, Tablets at IDC.

Lenovo and Acer re-entered the top five this quarter.

Lenovo shipped 1.5 million devices.

Acer shipped 1.4 million tablets in Q2.
