Tablet and Chromebook shipments drop in 2022: IDC

Worldwide tablet shipments rose 0.3 percent in the fourth quarter of 2022 to 45.7 million units, but fell 3.3 percent to 162.8 million in 2022, according to IDC.
Chromebook and tablet market 2022 IDC reportApple has shipped 61.8 million tablets grabbing 38 percent share in 2022. Samsung has shipped 30.3 million tablets for 18.6 percent share last year. The other leading tablet vendors are Amazon (16 million units / 9.8 percent share), Lenovo (11.6 million units / 7.1 percent) and Huawei (9.1 million units / 5.6 percent share).

Chromebook shipments fell 24.3 percent to 3.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2022 and dipped 48 percent to 19.2 million in 2022. In 2021, Chromebook shipments had achieved 180.5 percent growth.

Acer (4.2 million / 22 percent), Dell (4.1 million / 21.3 percent), Lenovo (3.7 million / 19.5 percent), HP (3.5 million / 18.4 percent) and Asus (1.3 million / 6.8 percent) are the leaders in Chromebook market in 2022.
