Samsung prices Chromebook laptop built on Google Chrome OS at $249

Infotech Lead America: Samsung Electronics America has launched Samsung Chromebook, a laptop built on Google Chrome OS.

Samsung claims that Chromebook boots up in less than 10 seconds, resumes near instantly and has a long battery life.

Samsung has priced new Chromebook at $249.

“With our commitment to evolving the Chromebook, we will continue our leadership in this exciting category. We’ve collaborated with Google to further enhance the experience by adding Samsung’s powerful computing components, thinner design and a beautiful HD screen,” said Todd Bouman, vice president of product marketing at Samsung’s Enterprise Business Division.

Samsung is planning to tap industries such as education, where customers require solutions that are reliable, easy to manage, and offer a better total cost of ownership than traditional notebook PCs.
