Personal computing devices forecast for 2018

Personal devices forecast report by IDCGlobal shipments of personal computing devices (PCDs) – desktop, notebook, workstation and tablets – are expected to decline 3.5 percent in 2018, according to IDC report.

Technology companies such as Google, Microsoft, Intel, AMD, Nvidia, ARM, HP, Dell, Lenovo, Acer, ASUS, Apple, among others, will be impacted.

The decline in 2017 was 2.7 percent.

The worldwide personal computing devices market is expected to drop at a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of -1.8 percent.

Slate tablets market is expected to contract over the five-year forecast with a CAGR of -6.2 percent.

Desktop PCs are expected to decline at a five-year CAGR of -2.6 percent.
