Worldwide shipments of devices including PCs, tablets and mobile phones are forecast to drop 4.4 percent in 2023 to 1,740.143 million units, according to a report from Gartner.
In 2022, the devices shipment market declined 11.9 percent to 1,819.344 million units.
PC shipments are estimated to decline 6.8 percent in 2023 to 267.676 million, after a 16 percent drop in 2022. Lenovo, HP and Dell are the top three PC suppliers.
Tablet shipments will drop 2.9 percent in 2023 to 132.963 million after 12 percent dip in 2022.
Phone shipments will decline 4 percent in 2023 to 1,339.505 million from 1,395.247 million in 2022.
Smartphone shipments are projected to total 1.23 billion units in 2023, down from 1.28 billion units in 2022. Samsung and Apple are the top two smartphone suppliers in 2022, according to IDC.
“The depressed economic market will continue to dampen demand for devices throughout 2023. End-user spending on devices is projected to decline 5.1 percent in 2023,” said Ranjit Atwal, Senior Director Analyst at Gartner.
