The global PC monitor market showed a positive trend in the second quarter of 2024, growing by 5.9 percent in unit shipments compared to the same period in 2023.

Dell Technologies, TPV, Samsung, HP, and Lenovo are the leading suppliers in the PC monitor market in Q2 2024.
This marks the third straight quarter of year-over-year growth for the PC monitor industry, signaling a recovery after declines in 2022 and 2023, IDC report indicated. IDC did not reveal the revenue of the PC monitor business.
Several factors have contributed to the growth in the PC monitor business. Inventory restocking, particularly in the consumer sector, played a role, along with efforts to mitigate cost increases as panel prices surged starting in April.
Additionally, manufacturers upgraded models from 60 Hz to 100 Hz refresh rates, aligning with the rise in consumer demand for higher-performing displays. The expanding consumer and gaming markets also fueled the increase in shipments.
Gaming monitors made up 20 percent of total shipments, a record high, thanks to declining prices and increased budget flexibility due to a cooling gaming PC market.
Most regions exceeded forecasts, except China and Canada.
With panel and component prices stabilizing, the monitor market is expected to grow at over 2 percent annually through 2025.

Looking forward, demand for higher refresh rates, larger screens, and gaming monitors will drive growth in the consumer market.
Business migration to Windows 11 and improving office occupancy will contribute modestly to the commercial side, despite a weaker-than-expected performance in that sector.
IDC forecasts a growth of 4 percent in 2024 and 2.3 percent in 2025 in the PC monitor industry. Beyond 2025, PC monitor shipments are expected to stabilize between 132 and 135 million units annually.
