PC shipments (including desktops, notebooks and workstations) in China have dropped 6 percent to 9.1 million in Q2 2024 due to weak demand, according to Canalys.

Tablet sales in China grew by 20 percent to 7.8 million units in Q2 2024, driven by increasing adoption and online promotions.

Canalys forecasts the tablet market in China will grow by 9 percent in 2024. PC market in China will fall by 4 percent in 2024.
In 2025, PC market in China will grow 12 percent. Tablets market in China will grow 1 percent in 2025, Canalys report said.

Chinese vendor Tongfang is generating demand from retail consumers for its Mechrevo gaming brand. Tongfang has strengthened market positioning following its acquisition by iSoftStone, a local IT solutions provider and Huawei partner.
AI engagement is more visible in China compared with Western markets, according to a Canalys’ PC end-user survey conducted in May. Local AI regulations have constrained the full deployment of Microsoft’s Copilot in Mainland China. This is pushing vendors toward localized strategies to develop AI PCs, either by integrating in-house AI assistants or by building their own AI application.
AI-capable PCs will represent 13 percent of total PC sales in China in 2024, rising to 37 percent in 2025 and 62 percent by 2027.
