PC market in China to decrease by 1% in 2024: Canalys

The PC (desktops, notebooks, and workstations) market in Mainland China is forecast to decrease by 1 percent in 2024, according to the latest Canalys data.

In Q1 2024, the PC market in China fell 12 percent, in contrast to the global PC market which returned to growth, Canalys  said in its research report.

Lenovo (34 percent), Huawei (12 percent), HP (9 percent), Asus (8 percent) and Apple (6 percent) are the leading PC suppliers in China during the first quarter of 2024.

In 2024, desktop shipments in China are expected to grow 10 percent annually as they benefit from commercial sector refresh demand, especially from large state-held enterprises and local governments.

In 2024, notebook shipments in China are set to drop 5 percent, as demand from consumers and the private sector is anticipated to remain cautious.

In Q1 2024, the commercial PC market in China decreased 19 percent due to weak IT spending by large enterprises.

In Q1 2024, consumer PC shipments in China dropped 8 percent.

In 2025, PC shipments in China are expected to grow 12 percent.

China’s Consumer PC market is expected to see shipment of 22.992 million in 2024 and 25.191 million in 2025 as compared with 23.390 million in 2023.

China’s Commercial PC market is expected to see shipment of 15.355 million in 2024 and 17.714 million in 2025 as compared with 15.066 million in 2023.

China’s Government PC market is expected to see shipment of 1.997 million in 2024 and 2.196 million in 2025 as compared with 2.144 million in 2023.

China’s Education PC market is expected to see shipment of 604K in 2024 and 664K in 2025 as compared with 640K in 2023.
