Infotech Lead India: Panasonic is targeting 20 percent market share in the projector segment in the current fiscal.
“With wide expanse of projectors catering to the masses as well as the niche segments, we are targeting a market share of 20 percent in Indian market by end of FY2012,” said Vineet Mahajan, general manager – Sales, Panasonic India.
Panasonic has reported 180 percent sales growth over the last year in the projector segment.
The growth is 250 percent in quantity.
Expanding its existing range of projectors with 28 new exceptional models in last four months, Panasonic now has an array of 53 breakthrough projectors.
This expansion will enable Panasonic to reach out to a wider array of consumers also keeping in line with achieving consumer satisfaction.
Panasonic has projectors ranging from 2,200 lumens to 20,000 lumens within the price range of Rs 28,000 to Rs. 35, 00,000. These include LCD projectors, targeted specifically for corporate, education institutions and govt. organizations, Home Cinema Projectors meant for individual users and the high end DLP projectors for multiplexes, offered at a price range of Rs.1.6 lakh to 35lakhs. The portfolio of 53 models is capable enough to satisfy the needs of the market for their applications like presentation, video conferencing, digital signage, rental and e-cinema.
“The new models in the projector category are targeted for both home users and commercial purpose. They are designed to deliver high quality results catering to the creative needs of customers,” Mahajan added.
Panasonic’s full HD 3D home theatre projector AE8000E embodies Panasonic’s 11 years of home cinema projector engineering, delivers higher level of picture quality in 2D images packed with advanced 3D features for natural and comfortable movie theater experience at home. It is available for Rs 250,000 with two years warranty.
PT-DZ21K series along with the development of portrait mode capability is priced at Rs 35 lakh.
