Microsoft announces Surface Pro 3 that can replace your laptop

Microsoft today announced Surface Pro 3 tablet that can replace your laptop because it is a combination of PC and tablet.

The company is yet to announce its price. Surface Pro 3 is better than Surface Pro 2, said Microsoft.

It will be available in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, Austria, Belgium, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan and Thailand.

Microsoft says the company has spent around three years to make Surface Pro 3.

Does it worth it? Surface Pro 3 tablet comes with a 4th generation Intel Core processor (there will be Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 options), and storage capacity ranging from 64 to 512 GB with 4 or 8 GB of RAM. It still features a full-size USB 3.0 port for peripherals, a Mini DisplayPort for projecting to an external display, and a microSD card reader for expandable storage.

Surface Pro 3 has a 12” ClearType Full HD screen with 2160 x 1440 resolution. The new screen is 38 percent bigger than Surface Pro 2, with 50 percent more pixels.

Surface Pro 3 tablets have click-in keyboards that come in five colors with 63 percent bigger track-pads. Microsoft is announcing a new Surface Docking Station for Surface Pro 3 that will be available in the next few months.

It weighs 1.76 pounds and is 0.36 inches thin. It is half the thickness of a MacBook Pro, and 30 percent thinner than an 11-inch MacBook Air.

Battery life promised is up to 9 hours – 10 percent better than Surface Pro 2.
