LG leads stand-alone monitor market with 30% share, ahead of Acer and Samsung in Q1 2013

Infotech Lead Asia: LG is leading the stand-alone monitor market in the first quarter of 2013 with 30.2 percent market share, ahead of Acer and Samsung.

CMR’s India city-wise monthly PC monitor market review, May 2013 release says LG is leading the Indian display industry after consolidating its position in the market for the second consecutive year.

LG’s stand-alone monitor market share rose 4 percent in the first quarter of 2013.

For 2013, LG has planned a broad line-up of Monitor portfolio under the IT banner.

“LG plans to launch LG’s Monitor TV, Ultra wide 21:9 aspect Ratio, and Touch Monitor before the end of May 2013. We will bring Cloud Monitor by end of Q2 2013,” said Sanjoy Bhattacharya, IT Sales Head, LG India.

In February 2013, LG said it expects to corner 30 percent share in Indian computer monitor market in 2013 on the back of new products.

Recently, LG launched its 19.5 inch PC monitor – at a price of Rs 6,900 — in India. The new launch is part of its effort to increase its market share in the stand alone monitor market in India.
