Today’s IDC report has the latest PC market share of leading suppliers such as Lenovo, HP, Dell, Apple, Asus and Acer for the first quarter of 2022.
Lenovo (22.7 percent), HP (19.7 percent), Dell (17.1 percent), Apple (8.9 percent), Asus (6.9 percent) and Acer (6.8 percent) are top PC makers in the world.
Lenovo and HP have lost PC market share in Q1. Lenovo’s PC market share decreased to 22.7 percent in Q1 2022 from 23.7 percent in Q1 2021. HP’s PC market share dropped to 19.7 percent in Q1 2022 from 22.7 percent in Q1 2021.
Dell, Apple, Asus and Acer have increased their PC market share. Dell has increased its PC market share to 17.1 percent from 15.3 percent.
Apple has enhanced its PC market share to 8.9 percent from 8.1 percent.
Asus has increased its PC market share to 6.9 percent from 5.6 percent.
Acer has maintained its PC market share at 6.8 percent.
Shipments of traditional PCs, including desktops, notebooks, and workstations, declined 5.1 percent in the first quarter of 2022 to 80.5 million PCs during the quarter.
PC industry managed to ship more than 80 million PCs at a time when logistics and supply chain are still a mess, accompanied by geopolitical and pandemic-related challenges, said Ryan Reith, group vice president with IDC’s Worldwide Mobile Device Trackers.
