Korea PC Market 2025: Shipments Rise on Enterprise Demand and AI PC Adoption, Says IDC

The South Korea PC market recorded solid growth in 2025, driven by enterprise upgrades, education demand, and the early adoption of AI-enabled PCs, according to a recent report from International Data Corporation. The IDC report highlights how evolving technology trends and replacement cycles are reshaping the country’s personal computing landscape.

Korea PC market Q4 2025 IDC report

PC shipments in South Korea increased year-over-year in 2025, supported by strong commercial demand as businesses accelerated device refresh cycles. The transition to newer operating systems and the need for improved security and performance played a key role in boosting enterprise purchases. At the same time, public sector and education-related deployments contributed to overall shipment growth, reflecting sustained institutional demand.

Consumer demand, however, showed mixed trends. While premium and high-performance devices saw steady interest, the broader consumer segment remained cautious due to economic uncertainties and longer replacement cycles. This shift indicates a gradual transition toward higher-value devices rather than volume-driven growth.

A notable trend shaping the Korean PC market is the emergence of AI-powered PCs. These next-generation systems, equipped with advanced processors and on-device AI capabilities, are beginning to influence buying decisions, particularly among enterprise users and tech-savvy consumers. Industry analysts expect AI PCs to play a larger role in the coming years as software ecosystems evolve and use cases expand.

The report also points to supply-side dynamics affecting the market. Vendors accelerated shipments toward the end of 2025 to manage anticipated component cost increases, particularly in memory. This aligns with broader global trends where rising DRAM and NAND prices are influencing pricing strategies and inventory planning.

Looking ahead, the Korean PC market is expected to face a more complex environment. While enterprise demand and AI-driven innovation will continue to support growth, challenges such as component price volatility and softer consumer spending may impact shipment volumes. Globally, similar trends are emerging, with higher average selling prices offsetting slower unit growth in the PC industry.

Overall, 2025 marks a transitional year for South Korea’s PC market, where innovation, enterprise modernization, and AI integration are becoming key growth drivers, setting the stage for a more value-focused and technology-driven future.
