Intel Q1 2014 Internet of Things revenue increases 32%, total revenue falls 8%

Intel Q1 2014 revenue decreased 8 percent to $12.8 billion, while its income dropped 26 percent to $1.9 billion. All its main business divisions performed badly, barring Internet of Things that rose 32 percent.

Intel CEO Brian Krzanich said: “In the first quarter we saw solid growth in the data center, signs of improvement in the PC business, and we shipped 5 million tablet processors, making strong progress on our goal of 40 million tablets for 2014.”

PC Client Group revenue decreased 1 percent to $7.9 billion, said Intel.

Data Center Group revenue fell 11 percent to $3.1 billion.

Internet of Things Group revenue increased 32 percent to $482 million. But IoT revenue sequentially dipped 10 percent.

Mobile and Communications Group revenue decreased 61 percent to $156 million.

Software and services operating segments revenue dipped 6 percent to $553 million.

For the full year, Intel, revenue growth will be flat.
