Worldwide hybrid device shipment are on pace to reach 21.5 million units in 2015 with increase of 70 percent from 2014, said Gartner.
According to Gartner, hybrid devices will account for 12 percent of total sales of mobile PCs in 2015 which will rise to 26 percent in 2019.
Additionally, clamshells will remain the mainstream form factor despite the factor that hybrid devices achieve strong growth.
According to the survey, 11 percent of tablet users, 10 percent of desktop users and 8 percent of notebook users will replace their current device with a hybrid device in the next two years.
With 41 percent, Asus was the top hybrid ultramobile device vendor in 2014 and first to introduce a two-in-one ultramobile. Asus shipped 3.1 million hybrid ultramobile units which remarks 263 percent up year on year.
Lenovo at second position shipped 1.9 million hybrid ultramobiles in 2014, an increase of 331 percent year on year.
Lenovo increased its share of hybrid ultramobiles in North America from 6 percent in 2013 to 31 percent in 2014 and in Western Europe market share grew from 16.5 percent to 27 percent from 2013 to 2014.
HP has shipped 800,000units hybrid ultramobiles in 2014 whereas Microsoft stood at third position by combining the ultramobile hybrid and the ultramobile tablet with 14 percent market share worldwide.
