HP Inc., the leader in the global printer market, has launched HP Print AI, which offers several new features, at the HP Imagine event.

HP Print AI, which is said to be the first AI-driven print technology, promises to revolutionize how businesses and individuals approach printing by making the process intuitive, seamless, and highly efficient.
Innovation is important for HP, the leader in the global hardcopy peripherals market with 35.3 percent share during the second-quarter of 2024, according to IDC.
HP’s revenue from printing business dropped marginally to touch $4.1 billion during fiscal 2024 third quarter. For comparison, HP’s PC business generated $9.4 billion revenue in the latest-quarter.
“Introducing AI solutions across our portfolio will simplify printing, ignite creativity, and accelerate collaboration – all while ensuring customer data is protected and kept private. This is our first step in setting a new standard for printing,” Tuan Tran, HP President of Imaging, Printing, and Solutions, said in a news statement.
Transforming the Print Experience
HP Print AI aims to tackle frustrations associated with printing, from setup challenges to inefficient printouts. According to HP, over half of all print jobs originate from web browsers, yet users often face issues such as poorly formatted pages, wasted space, and unwanted ads.
HP says the Perfect Output feature, part of the AI-powered system, eliminates these inefficiencies by automatically optimizing page layout. It detects unwanted content such as ads and reformats images and text to ensure they print correctly the first time, saving time, paper, and ink.
With Perfect Output, even complex print jobs like spreadsheets are handled smoothly. It ensures charts and tables aren’t split across pages, improving productivity for both home and business users.
Personalized and Intelligent Support
HP Print AI offers customized support based on user preferences and past interactions. From setup to everyday printing, HP Print AI remembers a customer’s needs, delivering faster and more personalized assistance through natural language processing and contextual awareness. This anticipatory technology simplifies the user experience, providing step-by-step guidance and improving overall satisfaction.
Unlocking Creativity
For creative users, HP Print AI opens new possibilities. Through conversational prompts, users can quickly transform photos into personalized projects such as greeting cards. The AI technology helps upscale images, remove unwanted objects, and offer custom layouts. Once designs are ready, HP Print AI connects users with partners for specialized printing options, allowing for a more tailored and dynamic creative process.
Seamless Collaboration for Businesses
HP is bringing HP Scan AI Enhanced, an AI-powered solution that automates document recognition and data extraction, helping businesses reduce labor costs and improve efficiency. For example, an Italian retail group saw an 80 percent reduction in labor costs after implementing the technology in their inventory workflow.
HP is pushing AI further into the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industries with the launch of HP Build Workspace. This platform allows professionals to organize site observations, collaborate on projects, and automate tasks such as creating field reports, greatly enhancing productivity in design and construction workflows.
Availability and Future Rollout
HP Print AI is now available in an exclusive beta phase, with the Perfect Output feature accessible to select customers. HP plans to expand its AI-driven capabilities through 2025, ensuring continuous improvements for both personal and commercial users. The HP Scan AI Enhanced solution is already available in key markets, and HP Build Workspace is set to roll out globally by Spring 2025.
HP Print AI marks a significant milestone, promising to redefine how users approach printing by merging creativity, productivity, and smart technology into a seamless and personalized experience.
