HP printer market share drops as Canon, Epson gain

Hardcopy peripherals market grew 11.6 percent to nearly 25 million units in terms of shipments in the fourth quarter of 2022.
Printer market share 2022 IDC reportShipment value of hardcopy peripherals increased 14.8 percent to $11.1 billion during the fourth quarter, according to IDC.

In 2022, hardcopy peripherals market declined 1.4 percent. Value of hardcopy peripherals market rose 0.7 percent to $39.9 billion in 2022.

HP’s printer market share dropped to 34.7 percent in Q4 2022 vs 37.8 percent in Q4 2021.

Canon’s printer market share increased to 21.2 percent in Q4 2022 vs 20.2 percent in Q4 2021.

Epson’s printer market share grew to 20.7 percent in Q4 2022 vs 19.7 percent in Q4 2021.

Brother’s printer market share rose to 8.8 percent in Q4 2022 vs 8.1 percent in Q4 2021.

Pantum’s printer market share increased to 3 percent in Q4 2022 vs 2.1 percent in Q4 2021.

Hardcopy Peripherals include single-function printers, multifunctional systems (MFPs), and single-function digital copiers (SF DC).
