The latest Canalys report has indicated the share of leading vendors in the Indian PC market during the first quarter of 2024.
In Q1 2024, Indian PC market – including desktops, notebooks and tablets, achieved 9 percent year-on-year growth to 4.3 million units.
Out of this, tablet shipments rose 37 percent to 1.3 million units.
Desktops increased 9 percent to 938,000 units.
Notebook shipments declined 4 percent to 2 million units.
The leading PC vendors in India are HP (with 31.3 percent), Acer (16.1 percent), Lenovo (15.7 percent), Dell (14.9 percent), and Asus (6.1 percent) in the first-quarter.
The leading tablet vendors in India are Samsung (with 34.4 percent), Acer (21.5 percent), Apple (9.5 percent), Lenovo (8 percent), and Xiaomi (7.4 percent) in the first-quarter.
FORECAST
Canalys forecasts 11 percent growth in 2024 and 15 percent increase in 2025 for India’s PC and tablet market.
Shipment of PCs will touch 6,250K in 2024 and 7,564K in 2025 in Consumer segment.
Shipment of PCs will touch 7,585K in 2024 and 8,811K in 2025 in Commercial segment.
Shipment of PCs will touch 253K in 2024 and 306K in 2025 in Government segment.
Shipment of PCs will touch 457K in 2024 and 473K in 2025 in Education segment.
“Customers across enterprises, SMBs and the public sector will contribute to a refresh cycle driven by the end of support for Windows 10 devices and the rising availability of AI-capable PCs,” said Ashweej Aithal, Analyst at Canalys.
The tablet market has a strong pipeline from substantial education tenders that are anticipated to close this year.
