The IDC Worldwide Industrial Printer Tracker reported that 620 units of digital industrial textile printers were shipped in Q2 2024 across the Asia Pacific region (excluding Japan). This represents a notable 17.2 percent year-on-year growth and a sequential increase of 10.7 percent.

The surge in demand for digital textile printing solutions is largely driven by the expansion of the fashion and home textiles sectors in the region. The shift towards more sustainable and efficient production methods, with digital printers offering reduced water and energy consumption, is also contributing to this growth.
Dye-sublimation ink continues to dominate the market, accounting for over 75 percent of the total shipments in the Asia Pacific region. Its versatility and ability to produce durable prints on various textiles make it a popular choice among textile factories and print service providers, particularly in the fashion, sportswear, home décor, and soft signage segments.
“The surge in digital textile printer shipments is an indicator of the commitment towards innovation in the textiles industry. As the demand for personalized, short-run, high-quality textiles continues to grow, textile factories are increasingly adopting digital solutions that offer quick turnaround, minimal inventory, and sustainability,” Sharon Cheng, Senior Research Analyst at IDC, said.
The adoption of digital textile printing technologies is expected to accelerate as vendors aim to innovate, providing textile factories and print service providers with advanced tools to enhance production capabilities and meet the evolving market demands.
