Dell Technologies has informed its global sales team that employees capable of working from the office must do so five days a week starting September 30, Reuters news report said. The move is aimed at fostering collaboration and skill development, which the company says are best achieved in an in-office environment.
“Working remotely should be the exception rather than the routine,” Dell Technologies said in a memo to its employees. Field representatives are also expected to spend five days a week either with customers and partners or in the office. Previously, the sales team had been required to work from the office three days per week.
For sales team members who are unable to access a Dell office, remote work will continue, Dell Technologies said. The company also plans to provide further guidance on remote work policies in the coming weeks.
In its latest quarterly update, Dell Technologies announced enhancements to its sales coverage aimed at seizing artificial intelligence (AI) opportunities across cloud service providers (CSPs) and various customer segments, from large enterprises to small businesses, in different geographies.
The company is integrating AI into its own operations to boost performance in areas such as customer service, sales, software development, content management, and supply chain optimization. Dell emphasized that it is beginning to see tangible benefits from these AI applications across its business.
Dell Technologies also highlighted its broad coverage model, which includes a combination of direct sales teams and channel partner programs.
“We’re going to continue to invest in coverage. We’re going to continue to broaden our channel programs to cover all customers who want to buy Dell products,” said Dell Technologies CEO. The company plans to deepen its investment in these areas to meet growing demand in the AI space.
