Infotech Lead America: The recently launched ASUS Transformer AiO is the world’s first dual OS (Windows 8 and Android 4.1) All-in-One PC with a detachable display that can also be used as a standalone tablet.
ASUS Transformer AiO has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 86999/-. It consists of a desktop PC Station powered by a 3rdgeneration Intel Core desktop processor for competent Windows 8 performance and features a detachable 18.4-inch display with its own NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor.
The Android 4.1. ASUS Transformer AiO combines the mobile flexibility of a tablet with the performance of a powerful desktop PC. Its compact and stylish package is designed to appeal to home lifestyle buyers, C-level executives, architects and design studios and other users who look for aesthetic appeal.
By detaching the display from the PC Station, the ASUS Transformer AiO’s display functions as two different types of king-size tablet. The wireless Remote Desktop technology with dual-band Wi-Fi gives complete multi-touch control over Windows 8 on the PC Station.
The device offers upto to five hours of battery life. It comes with a carrying handle and a folding stand to make it easy to use on a tabletop, away from the PC Station.

Of late, ASUS Technology has been launching several new devices in India keeping the price sensitivity factor in mind. The Taiwan based company is eyeing a 20 per cent share of the Indian tablet PC market. The Asus FonePad tablet was launched in April this year at Rs 15,500 with features similar to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P3100.
Asus India is reportedly planning to invest over Rs 200 crore in 2011 to fund its expansion plans, including its media player business. Its sixth exclusive store was opened in Varanasi, UP earlier this year.
