Amazon opens new robotics software development center in India

E-commerce giant Amazon is opening a new Consumer Robotics Software Development Center in Bengaluru, India.
Amazon Astro robotAmazon’s Robotics Software Development Center will support Amazon’s Consumer Robotics division, which launched its first robot last year, Astro.

Amazon is hosting a virtual event for press and consumer robot enthusiasts, Amazon Device: All About Astro on June 2, from 9-10 a.m. IST. The event is open to the public and is geared towards anyone interested in working in consumer robotics and consumer robotics enthusiasts.

Amazon Consumer Robotics leaders will be speaking about various topics such as what it is like to work at Amazon, the development of Astro, the future of consumer robotics, and more. There will be pre-recorded Astro demos during the event.

Astro robot from Amazon is designed to help customers with a range of tasks like home monitoring and keeping in touch with family. It brings together new advancements in artificial intelligence, computer vision, sensor technology, and voice and edge computing.
