Indonesia’s PC market has achieved 8.8 percent year-over-year growth in 2024 reaching 4.12 million units from 3.79 million units in 2023, IDC said.
PC market in Indonesia includes desktops, notebooks, and workstations, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Personal Computing Device Tracker.
The driver of this expansion was the consumer PC segment, which saw 16.7 percent increase, fueled by strategic supply timing by major vendors, targeted promotions for students, and the rise of local brands offering affordable devices in Indonesia.
The commercial PC segment in Indonesia faced 7.5 percent decline, largely due to reduced government spending, the discontinuation of the Chromebook for Education program, and shifting budget priorities influenced by the country’s elections. Despite these challenges, the strong demand from individual consumers ensured an overall positive trajectory for Indonesia’s PC market.
Indonesia’s PC market in 2024 was led by Asus with a 23.6 percent market share and 972.3K units shipped, followed closely by Lenovo at 22.2 percent with 913.5K units.
Acer Group held 20.0 percent of the PC market in Indonesia with 825.2K units, while HP Inc accounted for 13.4 percent with 550.7K units. Axioo secured a 4.3 percent share with 176.9K units. Other vendors collectively made up 16.6 percent of the PC market in Indonesia, shipping 684.1K units.
Indonesia’s PC shipments managed to grow in 2024 despite the overall commercial shipments shrinking, impacted by elections and changes in educational budget priorities, said Theodorus Adiatma, senior market analyst, IDC Indonesia.
