Infotech Lead America: Zayo Group is offering fiber connectivity solutions to high-power, energy efficient Safehosts data center.

Zayo is the first carrier to deliver fiber optic solutions to Safehosts’ Data Center. The fiber optic network will provide a resilient, secure, and private managed connection to Safehost and help the data center deliver colocation hosting to IT specialist clients and a wider small and medium enterprise (SME) market.

“Zayo’s focus is to deliver dedicated bandwidth solutions to corporations with a requirement for resilient, secure connectivity. Our fiber network throughout London enables standard diverse or bespoke solutions based on the customer’s needs,” said Alan Berryman, vice president of Sales at Zayo.

“Our business is founded on offering a core range of IT services to the SME market; therefore it is vital that we are able to deliver and guarantee high speed, high availability bandwidth to our customers,” said Dave Cartwright, sales director at Safehosts. “Zayo’s diverse fiber optic solutions support the prerequisite of our business for high bandwidth solutions, unmatched resiliency and network security.”

Recently Zayo Group said it will acquire remaining 50 percent stake in USCarrier Telecom, a regional fiber-based bandwidth services provider, for $13.5 million.

In October 2010, Zayo acquired an approximately 50 percent stake in USCarrier by buying American Fiber Systems.
