Wing Cloud last year invested an initial $48 million to set up an 8,800 square-meter data center that can support up to 12,000 servers and multitenant cloud computing operations.

The investment in data center is part of China’s vision to develop Guiyang as one of China’s top-tier hubs for cloud computing and Big Data by 2020.

“Brocade’s Ethernet fabric architecture made it easy and cost-effective to scale out the data center network to eventually support more than 10,000 servers. It also provided support for SDN and NFV technology, which will need to be deployed as we scale our public and private cloud services,” said Ning Xu, CEO of Guizhou Wing Cloud High Technology.

Wing Cloud deployed a pair of Brocade VDX 8770 Switches as spine switches in conjunction with more than 100 Brocade VDX 6710 and VDX 6740leaf switches that provide wire-speed 1 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and 10 GbE top-of-rack connectivity to servers hosting virtual machines.

This apart, Wing Cloud deployed Brocade MLXe-16 core routers to support bandwidth connections to customers. The company is managing the infrastructure through Brocade Network Advisor, a network management platform for Brocade switches and routers.

Wing Cloud can use Brocade Network Advisor to manage its data center fabric as a single entity or drill down to individual switches for fault, inventory or performance management.
