T-Systems expands public cloud biz to Asia from a data center in Singapore

T Systems
T-Systems has launched its public cloud platform — the Open Telekom Cloud — in a data center in Singapore, as part of its strategy to expand to Asia.

T-Systems is promising German-standard cloud with low latency to companies in the Asia-Pacific region.

“Thanks to the Open Telekom Cloud, we can offer public cloud services, which have proven themselves in Europe, in the dynamic economies of the Asia-Pacific region. This is particularly attractive for Asian companies interested in the European market,” said Andreas Falkner, responsible for the Open Telekom Cloud business.

“Opening a data center for the Open Telekom Cloud in Singapore this year underlines T-Systems vision of becoming a global public cloud provider,” said Agatha Poon, research director, Asia-Pacific Services, at 451 Research.

T-Systems, Deutsche Telekom’s business customer arm, will expand Open Telekom Cloud features available in Singapore, based on enterprise customers’ needs.
