STT GDC expands capacity in three data centers in Philippines

ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC Philippines), a joint venture between Globe, the Ayala Corporation, and STT GDC, is set to expand its capacity by a total 5.2MW by Q3 of the year.
VC funding for techThis expansion across STT GDC Philippines’ three existing data centers in Makati, Cavite and Quezon City will exceed the capacity of most single data centers locally and is designed to serve near-term capacity needs.

“As part of STT GDC Philippines’ growth strategy to support the country’s digital infrastructure build, this capacity expansion is part of the commitment made to support the government’s endeavors in delivering reliable and robust digital infrastructure to our fellow Filipinos,” said Carlo Malana, President and CEO of STT GDC Philippines.

STT GDC Philippines currently operates five data centers with a total IT capacity of 22MW, with more than 95 percent of its power coming from renewable energy sources aligned with Globe, STT GDC,  and the Ayala Group’s sustainability commitment.

The company aims to operate a total of over 150MW of IT capacity in the coming years. In May this year, STT GDC Philippines announced its newest data center campus, STT Fairview, with an IT capacity of 124MW and the initial phase of operations planned for early 2025.
