Schneider Electric brings micro data center solutions

Schneider Electric has launched new micro data center solution portfolio which includes benefits of power, cooling and management software to support a self contained, secure computing environment.

The new solution targets customer who need to reduce latency and quickly add capacity while ensuring a secure and easy to manage environment.

The company said micro data center physical infrastructure solutions include the enclosure, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), power distribution, management software (DCIM), environmental monitoring, cooling and security which are tested, assembled, packaged and then shipped together in a factory environment.

The solutions include SmartBunker SX which is traditional for IT rooms, SmartBunker CX is optimized for office environments while SmartBunker FX is ruggedized for any environment and SmartShelter is a multi-rack which is also ruggedized for any environment.

The new solution provides high level of security, optimized installation and operating cost and configured, delivered and installed in the shortest time.

Company officials said the new micro data center solutions are now available in North America and will release globally during 2015.

“Through this new offer, Schneider Electric is addressing the latency, bandwidth and processing speed challenges customers are facing with the growth of connected devices and data applications,” said Dave Johnson, senior vice president, Data Center Solutions, Schneider Electric.

In April, Schneider Electric launched a new suite, Performance Analytics for Resource Advisor software platform which has ability to monitor energy and carbon markets, manage key sustainability metrics and report results to stakeholders.

Last year in January, Schneider Electric announced three data center Operational Services offerings designed to optimize and simplify data center operations.
