Riverbed is leading the WAN optimization market share in the second quarter of 2013, ahead of Cisco.
The other two leading vendors in the WAN optimization market include Blue Coat and Citrix, Infonetics Research said.
WAN optimization sales declined 11 percent from Q2 2012.
The WAN optimization market will grow due to the increasing demand for cloud services, which can benefit from a smart device at the branch office that enhances the delivery of cloud services over the WAN.
“But cloud services have yet to become a demand driver,” said Matthias Machowinski, directing analyst for enterprise networks and video, Infonetics Research.
Infonetics Research says application data controller (ADC) revenue grew 7 percent in Q2 2013 from Q1 2013, and is up 4 percent from the year-ago 2nd quarter.
F5 continues to lead the pack in ADCs. Citrix and Radware are in second and third positions.
“Things are looking more positive for the application delivery controller (ADC) market. Previously delayed tier 1 projects are back on track, and enterprise spending in North America is picking up,” said Cliff Grossner, Infonetics Research’s new directing analyst for data center and cloud.
