GoDaddy acquires email marketing vendor Mad Mimi

Web hosting vendor GoDaddy has acquired Mad Mimi, a provider of email marketing for SMBs.

GoDaddy said Mad Mimi’s applications, customer care, and technology platform are strategic fit for the web hosting vendor to expand offerings to small businesses.

The company did not share financial details of the transaction.

Less than one-third of small businesses are using email marketing applications to communicate with and engage customers and prospects.

Mad Mimi’s email marketing product helps users create, send, share and track customized email newsletters.

The combination of GoDaddy and Mad Mimi will enable GoDaddy web customers to collect customer information and add fresh content on their website, improving customer engagement and search engine optimization.

GoDaddy will offer the Mad Mimi service as a standalone application.

Mad Mimi and GoDaddy will build a new product utilizing the Mad Mimi platform targeting to launch in 2015.

Steven Aldrich, senior vice president of Business Applications, GoDaddy, said: “Mad Mimi’s email marketing application is a great solution to provide to our growing base of customers who will benefit from Mad Mimi’s high quality product and overall positive customer experience.”
