Extreme Networks, in partnership with collocation services provider Data Holdings, announced the successful implementation of Ethernet services for Wisconsin’s premier Tier III enhanced data center.
Data holdings chose Extreme Networks data center switching products for building its new gold green data center in Wisconsin. The switching, software services and support were delivered by managed services provider Stack41.
Extreme’s Summit X460 series fixed switches and BlackDiamondnX8 modular switches helped Data Holdings deploy carrier connectivity for its customers’ applications in an efficient and highly scalable manner.
The series Summit X460 G2 is intelligent and cost effective edge switching, the company said. It can also be used as a top of rack switch for many data center environments such as high density Gigabit Ethernet for concentrated data center environments.
Modular switch platform designed for cloud sale requirements of data centers, high performance computing (HPC) and internet exchange points (IXP), the BlackDiamond provides a low latency, high performance switch fabric with high density wire speed connectivity from 10Gbps to 100Gbps.
“Extreme Networks’ core and access switching edge solutions matched up very well with our needs and the local Extreme support team has been crucial to the success of the entire process, as their efforts and expertise supports the business,” said Stacy England, vice president, Data Center Operations, Data Holdings.
Last month, Extreme Networks and Blue Door Networks provide a state of art data infrastructure to Orlando’s Dr Phillips Center for the performing arts.
