Digital Realty, a global leader in providing cloud- and carrier-neutral data center, colocation, and interconnection solutions, has announced its provision of connectivity to the newly launched Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) FastConnect.
This move allows customers to enjoy secure and dependable connectivity to Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud regions situated in Frankfurt and Madrid. Furthermore, customers have the option to utilize Digital Realty’s services to interconnect their Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud-based applications and workloads with other cloud platforms.
The Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud, entirely based within the European Union (EU), offers customers access to OCI’s public cloud services while maintaining control over their data privacy and sovereignty requirements. Specifically designed to align with the EU’s evolving regulatory landscape, Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud provides customers with the same prices, support, and service level agreements (SLAs) as OCI’s public cloud regions to accommodate a diverse range of workloads.
The OCI FastConnect interconnection to Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud is facilitated by Digital Realty’s proprietary interconnection and orchestration solution, ServiceFabric. This solution extends access to Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud from over 130 global locations, allowing customers to establish connections from virtually anywhere in the world.
Yogesh Kaushik, Vice President of Product Management, Networking Services at Oracle, emphasized that OCI FastConnect enables customers to achieve high service levels and reliably high throughput in their network connections to Oracle Cloud. Partners such as Digital Realty play a pivotal role in supporting the hybrid multicloud solutions that Oracle’s customers expect.
Harm Joosse, Global Head of Strategy & Business Segments, Service Providers at Digital Realty, underlined the necessity of prioritizing data protection, reliability, latency, and compliance as organizations increasingly leverage the cloud. He emphasized that embracing the cloud should not compromise data privacy or face regulatory hurdles.
Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud enables businesses to embrace digital transformation fully while adhering to the highest standards of data protection and sovereignty. Harm Joosse expressed delight in collaborating with Oracle to drive demand for Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud and enable joint customers to seamlessly and securely interconnect to OCI FastConnect and other cloud platforms.
In addition to OCI FastConnect connectivity to Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud in Madrid, Digital Realty currently hosts nine other OCI FastConnect points-of-presence (PoPs) globally. These locations, including Amsterdam, Chicago, Frankfurt, Johannesburg, Los Angeles, London, Marseille, and Sao Paulo, ensure customers have access to low-latency, secure, and high-performance connectivity to OCI FastConnect.
