Corning will supply Meta with its latest innovations in optical fiber, cable, and connectivity solutions.

The partnership includes significant expansion of Corning’s manufacturing capabilities in North Carolina, particularly at its Hickory optical cable facility, where Meta will be the anchor customer.

Corning expects this investment to increase its North Carolina workforce by 15 to 20 percent, sustaining a skilled workforce of over 5,000 employees, including scientists, engineers, and production teams.

The collaboration aims to strengthen domestic supply chains, support high-paying U.S. jobs, and ensure advanced AI data centers are built with American-made technology.

Meta emphasized that this partnership helps secure U.S. leadership in AI, supports local economies, and leverages Corning’s expertise in optical connectivity.

The agreement focuses on meeting the scale and density requirements of AI-driven data centers through next-generation optical fiber, cable, and connectivity products.
