CenturyLink has opened its new data center in the greater Toronto area.
The data center is CenturyLink’s second in the Toronto region and fourth in Canada.
The new data center is built to support up to 5 megawatts of IT load and 100,000 square feet of raised floor space.
Located in Markham, the new facility has received Uptime Institute’s Tier III Certification of Constructed Facility and Tier III Certification of Design Documents.
The new facility brings CenturyLink’s total Toronto data center footprint to more than 11 megawatts of IT load and approximately 185,000 square feet of raised floor space.
RMS, a catastrophe risk management firm, hosts its infrastructure in several CenturyLink data centers, including Toronto.
“CenturyLink provides RMS with an integrated colocation and cloud solution to meet the security, compliance and agility requirements of our forthcoming RMS(one) risk management platform,” said Paris Georgallis, senior vice president of cloud platform operations at RMS.
CenturyLink operates 57 data centers worldwide, including Canadian facilities in Toronto , Montreal and Vancouver.
