Beijing Internet Harbor deploys Coriant 7100 Nano Packet Optical Transport Platform

Beijing Internet Harbor Technology has deployed Coriant 7100 Nano Packet Optical Transport Platform in the Beijing metropolitan area with the introduction of full Reconfigurable Optical Add Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) functionality.

The company said with 7100 Packet Optical Transport Platform Beijing Internet Harbor reduces space and power requirements and improves overall network efficiencies.

The service activation time is accelerated, regeneration costs are reduced and network reliability is improved with the implementation of full ROADM and Optical Express.

In addition, ROADMs can accelerate service activation times by as much as 80 percent and also balances signal power levels more accurately than manual balancing.

The transport infrastructure, dynamic network control based on the Coriant Transcend SDN Solution and integrated network planning together create a powerful toolkit for multi-layer network efficiencies and next-generation service innovation in a new networked world.

“The robust features of the Coriant 7100 solution, including multi-degree ROADM functionality, have enabled us to create an agile and scalable transport infrastructure optimized for the dynamic demands of both inter-data center and enterprise-to-data center applications,” said Ren Zhiyuan, CEO, Beijing Internet Harbor.

Last month, UNINETT, a non-profit provider of telecom and data network connections to Norwegian universities and research institutions, selected Coriant to build a new 100G-capable subsea optical transport infrastructure connecting Ny-Ålesund and Longyearbyen on the Svalbard archipelago.

In April, Telefonica Germany selected the Coriant 8600 Smart Router Series and Coriant 8000 Intelligent Network Manager (INM) to support the evolution of its mobile backhaul network.
