Akamai Technologies, a content delivery network (CDN) services provider, has supported ABPLive.in website and ABP Live app for the coverage of the latest election results across Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Goa, Uttarakhand and Manipur.
ABP Live has registered more than 13 million unique visitors, with the organization’s app trending in both Google Play and Apple App stores.
Akamai served 225 TB of data for ABP Live’s digital properties on March 11. ABP Live’s users could access election news across mobile and desktop devices from any location and on any network through a combination of Akamai’s Dynamic Site Delivery and Adaptive Media Delivery.
ABP News Network secured the day-long coverage using Akamai’s Web Application Firewall (WAF) and Site Shield.
“March 11th represented the views of a 160 million voters and Indian news sites had to be prepared for high traffic volumes. ABP Live partnered with Akamai and delivered over 1.6 billion hits across its digital properties,” said Sidharth Pisharoti, regional vice president, Media Business, APJ, Akamai Technologies.
“Partnering with Akamai, ABP live delivered seamless real-time coverage and in-depth analyses of election results from five states to audiences across platforms, accounting for over 1.6 billion hits. ABP Live properties are present in six languages catering to diverse audiences across India, and Indian viewers abroad,” said L Ramakrishnan, head Digital, ABP News Network.
The 1.6 billion hits across ABP Live’s digital properties is more than three times the 450 million hits that Akamai helped manage for a Constitutional Body in May of 2014 during the General Election results.
