Wendy’s, the renowned quick-service hamburger chain and the second-largest in the U.S., has taken a significant step towards becoming the world’s most thriving and beloved restaurant brand.
To achieve this vision, Wendy’s has implemented Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite and moved critical business workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The move aims to enhance productivity, gain valuable business insights, and deliver an exceptional experience to its ever-growing customer base.
As Wendy’s expanded its operations globally, it identified a challenge in its heavily manual-dependent business systems. These processes were consuming valuable time for employees and restaurant managers, hindering their ability to provide the highest level of customer experience. In response, Wendy’s made a strategic decision to move its Finance and HR processes to the cloud, leveraging the capabilities of Oracle Fusion Applications Suite.
Stephanie Shaw, Vice President of Enterprise Technology at Wendy’s, expressed the company’s mission to create fast, frictionless, and fun user experiences for employees, franchisees, and front-line workers. By streamlining and automating business processes through Oracle Fusion Applications Suite, Wendy’s aims to foster a culture of innovation and inclusivity. The shift will allow employees to focus more on customers and less on administrative tasks.
With the implementation of Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Wendy’s has consolidated 11 different financial applications into a single cloud ERP suite with embedded analytics. This consolidation will boost productivity and improve controls, providing a deeper understanding of the business and enabling better planning and financial reporting accuracy.
Additionally, Wendy’s worked collaboratively with Oracle to develop a new billing management system that automates unique franchisee requirements, streamlining billing and payments processes. Leveraging OCI’s Visual Builder and Integration Cloud Service, along with Oracle Exadata Database Service and Oracle Autonomous Database on Oracle Exadata, Wendy’s ensured seamless connectivity and robust performance for the custom application.
Encouraged by the success of their Oracle Cloud ERP implementation, Wendy’s is currently in the process of moving its global HR system to Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM). This transition will enable Wendy’s to standardize onboarding processes, enhance HR self-service capabilities, offer real-time visibility into goals and performance metrics, and empower employees to take control of their career development.
Steve Miranda, Executive Vice President of Applications Development at Oracle, emphasized the fierce competition in the quick-service restaurant industry and the pivotal role employees and managers play in elevating brands through fast and friendly customer service. With Oracle Fusion Applications Suite, Wendy’s can now automate processes and make faster, well-informed decisions, ultimately delivering exceptional customer experiences. Wendy’s has laid the foundation for embracing new services as it continues to pursue its ambitious company vision.
Oracle Fusion Applications Suite revolutionizes organizations by breaking down silos, standardizing processes, and managing finance, HR, supply chain, and customer experience data on an integrated cloud platform. With quarterly update cycles, customers can continuously access innovative features every 90 days without downtime or business disruption. Wendy’s has positioned itself for a bright future with a technology infrastructure that aligns with its customer-centric approach and commitment to excellence.
