VMware supports Brandix Lanka for cloud strategy

VMware on Tuesday said it would support Brandix Lanka, an apparel exporter to global brands, for its cloud strategy.

VMware’s virtualization and cloud infrastructure technology will enable Brandix to reduce capital and operational costs while reducing the time to deployment for IT related services from weeks to minutes.

Brandix, also a leading apparel solutions provider, becomes the first company to sign an Enterprise License Agreement (ELA) with VMware in Sri Lanka.

As per the IT deal, Brandix will implement additional licenses of VMware vSphere for growing its virtualization environment, and VMware vCenterTM Site Recovery Manager for disaster recovery, said VMware in a statement.

“Brandix has identified IT as a key enabler of the business. We strive to optimize our processes, infrastructure and services to enable our IT services and operations to be on par with the world’s best,” said Manoj Pilimatalawwe, head of Group Information and Communication Technology at Brandix.

Five years ago, Brandix partnered with VMware to virtualize its infrastructure and noticed a sharp reduction in the total cost of delivering IT services in the organization. It has found that the services are now much more reliable with the high availability options offered by virtualization.

“The globally competitive apparel industry in Sri Lanka requires organizations like Brandix to be agile and able to quickly respond to changing market dynamics globally, while saving costs and meeting business objectives,” said Sangeeta Giri, director of Sales, VMware India.
