NetSuite announced that the University of Santo Tomas (UST) has joined the NetSuite Academy Program to bring cloud based business management solutions to university classrooms.
University of Santo Tomas incorporated NetSuite through the SuiteAcademy Program, which offers no cost NetSuite licensing, resources and training to help schools equip students with the next generation cloud IT.
Educational institutions including Purdue University, UCLA, University of Texas at Austin, Arizona State University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Far Eastern University in Philippines are already partner of SuiteAcademy which helps the students to gain practical experience with a cutting edge business management solution and professors gain access to online NetSuite training as well as opportunities to use and contribute curriculum and exercises.
SuiteAcademy has more than 25,000 students. After the official launch, the program has grown 83 percent with more than 100 tertiary institutions around the world.
The UST Institute of Information and Computing Sciences incorporated NetSuite cloud ERP into the undergraduate degree curricula in the first semester of 2014 as an elective class, with the pilot class attracting over 70 third year students.
The UST students and professors are provided with new flexibility for anywhere/anytime learning over the web, liberating them from the need to access on premises software in classrooms and labs and broaden education beyond campus boundaries.
The UST Institute plans to deliver a NetSuite based cloud computing curricula to approximately 200 students for the first semester of 2015.
The UST expects that with the maturity of new program the number of participating students and faculty will increase and it also expects expansion across the Institute of Information and Computer Sciences core programs of computer science, information technology and information system.
