MakeMusic’s solution improves active sales forecasting. It also helps in tracking sales leads, allowing for the integration of marketing and business development activities.

“Delivering software applications that give mid-market companies the business agility and insights needed to succeed in today’s increasingly competitive business climate is key to Dell’s strategy,” said Paulette Altmaier, vice president and general manager, Dell Cloud Business Applications. “Dell Cloud Business Applications offers MakeMusic the ability to rapidly deploy best in class software and improve business performance.”

Minnesota-based MakeMusic’s products include Finale, the industry standard in music notation software, Garritan, a provider of virtual software instruments, and SmartMusic, a software that is transforming the way music is taught, learned and performed.

MakeMusic was not satisfied by selling its products directly and through a group of independent resellers. This complex sales model, including multiple purchase methods and frequencies, led MakeMusic to select Dell Cloud Business Applications to implement a Salesforce CRM solution.

The new Dell solution allows the company to produce an active sales forecast that can be viewed in real-time by sales reps and executives. The solution also offers a way to easily track sales leads through sales process and to integrate marketing and business development activities throughout the organization.

“To remain an industry leader, it’s critical for MakeMusic to continuously invest in product innovation and ways that we can better serve our customers,” said Doug Eicher, vice president of sales, MakeMusic. “Working with Dell Cloud Business Applications for our Salesforce solution allowed us to get up and running quickly with the ability to understand and use the software upon implementation.”
