Motorola Solutions has unveiled new Cloud Core Managed Service to help public safety agencies accelerate adoption of ASTRO 25, an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solution that provides access to a shared P25 core operated and managed by Motorola Solutions, the company said.
The solution allows agencies to access the latest Project 25 (P25) land mobile radio (LMR) technology as well as provide a communications platform for long-term growth and new capabilities, allowing them to save on the overall cost of building and maintaining a P25 core solution.
With Cloud Core agreement, Motorola Solutions owns and operates the LMR core and refreshes components to keep the system enhanced with the latest releases and features. Participating agencies benefit from sharing a common ASTRO 25 core with access to a full set of capabilities they select and immediate agency interoperability, the company said.
The ASTRO 25 Cloud Core Managed Service can serve as a hub to create regional P25 connectivity to standalone systems, enabling users to roam onto other P25 systems and providing network-to-network interoperability.
Cloud Core customers maintain visibility into the core with the Motorola Solutions’ MyView Portal which tracks real-time network performance status, historical performance reports, real-time coverage predictions and more.
ASTRO 25 Cloud Core Managed Service works on a predictable operating expense model, with a subscription fee.
