Microsoft cloud revenue increased 147 percent in fourth quarter

Microsoft said its commercial cloud revenue increased 147 percent in its fourth quarter, driven by growth in Office 365, Azure, Dynamics CRM and other commercial cloud services.

The commercial cloud annual revenue run rate has basically doubled each of the past two years, and now stands at $4.4 billion and is climbing rapidly, said Microsoft.

Satya Nadella, chief executive officer of Microsoft, said: “I’m proud that our aggressive move to the cloud is paying off – our commercial cloud revenue doubled again this year to a $4.4 billion annual run rate.”

Microsoft earlier said its fourth quarter revenue grew 10 percent, and earnings per share rose 12 percent.
