Infotech Lead India: IBM announced three organizations in India have selected IBM’s cloud-based disaster recovery service — IBM SmartCloud Virtualized Server Recovery (VSR) –to ensure business continuity and operational resiliency.
The companies that have adopted these services include Servion Global Solutions, a Customer Interaction Management (CIM) solutions firm; Synthite Industries, a manufacturer of natural products, and Luminous, a power back-up solution provider.
The disaster recovery service provides these organizations with a fully managed, robust server recovery solution that will ensure faster restoration while minimizing data loss and enabling continued customer service in any disaster scenario.
Organizations are increasingly turning to cloud as part of their strategy to reduce costs associated with in-house deployment. Disaster recovery is essential for services like e-commerce, online banking and customer self-service among others.
IBM’s cloud based virtual discovery provides these organizations with a resilient infrastructure that helps them mitigate downtime risks. The subscription based pricing model also provides cost benefits.
VSR, IBM’s disaster recovery service, enables clients to not only provision recovery resources in minutes but also avoid errors of manual operations. Businesses turn to cloud-based VSR service for its reliability, scalability and ability to dramatically reduce recovery time.
The service helps improve server recovery time and reliability by leveraging high quality automation and cloud tools. It minimizes the risk of failure due to disparate hardware at the production data centre and provides remote portal access to help reduce cost and time as well as the inconvenience of travelling to the recovery site.
