IBM inks cloud partnership with Tencent Holdings

Enterprise IT vendor IBM today announced its tie-up with Tencent Holdings to sell public cloud with Software-as-a-Service solutions in China.

IBM said it will target emerging small and medium (SMB) enterprises in smarter cities and smarter healthcare industries as well as other fields to offer mobile, cloud computing and big data tools to transform internal processes and operations.

Tencent Cloud and IBM will promote innovation and gain from each company’s resources and global capacity to benefit enterprise customers.

Nancy Thomas, managing partner with IBM’s Business Consulting Services in China, said: “IBM and Tencent’s shared vision to bring the scale and cost benefits of cloud computing to enterprises in China and to add differentiating value by serving the particular needs of specific industries.”
