Dell to expand cloud services for business customers

Infotech Lead America: Dell has decided to expand its cloud services.

The expanded cloud services enable business customers to select solutions that will help drive business results, whether they need strict security and compliance, large or small workload capabilities, real-time storage and retrieval, or quick and easy online access for configuring their cloud services.

The company is launching Dell Cloud Dedicated Services to offer managed private cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) from a secure Dell data center. Dell Cloud Dedicated offers rapid deployment, self-service access, scalability and metered usage benefits of cloud computing while meeting the security and compliance requirements of the most sensitive or highly regulated data.

Dell will also launch the Dell Cloud portal in the U.S. to simplify the ordering and onboarding process of Cloud Services. The portal offers instant ordering capabilities for Dell’s cloud services so customers can meet their immediate business needs and simply scale as they grow.

Dell is also expanding global availability of its public and hybrid cloud services. In September, Dell Cloud with VMware vCloud Datacenter Services, currently available in the US and Canada, will also be available in the UK, France, Ireland, and Mexico.

Recently, Dell enabled channel partners to offer Dell cloud services as part of the PartnerDirect Program in the U.S. and Canada.

“As part of Dell’s continuing efforts to build, operate, connect, deliver and simplify cloud solutions for customers we are making it easy for customers to access and adopt cloud solutions, and taking a big step into the private cloud space with Dell Cloud Dedicated,” said Nnamdi Orakwue, vice president for Infrastructure Cloud Services.

To help customers develop their Cloud strategy, Dell offers a comprehensive portfolio of Virtualization and Cloud Computing Consulting services which includes a Virtualization Readiness Assessment (VRA) offer, a Virtualization Health Check Service offer and a Cloud Readiness Assessment (CRA) offer. These services can help customers define their cloud strategy, design and implementation to achieve lower total cost of ownership and increased return on investment.
