The Cloud IT infrastructure market revenue – from server, storage, and Ethernet switch — grew 27.3 percent to $12.8 billion in Q4 2017.
The latest IDC research report on cloud IT infrastructure market said revenues reached $43.4 billion with 21.7 percent growth in 2017.
Public cloud infrastructure revenue rose 34 percent to $8.5 billion in Q4. Private cloud revenue reached $4.3 billion (+15.7 percent).

The public and private cloud revenues represent 42.2 percent of the total IT infrastructure spending against 39.3 percent in 2016.
Main vendors in Cloud IT infrastructure market
Dell has increased its Cloud IT infrastructure market share to 14.7 percent in Q4 2017 from 14.6 percent in Q4 2016. HPE lost its Cloud IT infrastructure market share to 12.1 percent from 14.1 percent.
Cisco lost its share in Cloud IT infrastructure market to 8 percent from 9.5 percent. Huawei increased its Cloud IT infrastructure market share to 4.4 percent from 4.1 percent. IBM increased its Cloud IT infrastructure market share to 4 percent from 3.3 percent.
Non-cloud IT infrastructure revenue at $17.5 billion (+12.8 percent) represents 57.8 percent of total worldwide IT infrastructure spending.
“Public cloud IT infrastructure growth was led by expansion by Amazon and renewed growth in Google and Facebook infrastructure,” said Kuba Stolarski, research director for Computing Platforms at IDC.
