CareCloud strengthens top management team

Infotech Lead America: CareCloud has strengthened its top management team.

Edwin Miller

The web-based practice management, electronic health record (EHR) and medical billing software provider has appointed Edwin Miller as its new vice president of Product Management. Miller will oversee all development of CareCloud’s existing EHR and forthcoming mobile offerings for the physician practice market.

Recently, CareCloud appointed Joseph P. Sawyer as vice president of Marketing. Sawyer will oversee CareCloud’s marketing and channel development efforts.

Miller and Swayer will be members of the company’s leadership team reporting to President and CEO Albert Santalo.

“We are seeing exciting traction in the marketplace, especially with the launch of our cloud-based EHR, CareCloud Charts,” said Santalo.

“CareCloud represents a true emergence of cloud computing in healthcare and has the velocity to back that up. Other web-based products in the market are showing their age, at 10 or more years old now, and most systems are mired in legacy technology. I have long sought to join a company where a comprehensive solution for physicians could be done right, and CareCloud is it,” said Miller.

Prior to joining CareCloud, Miller held a number of leadership and product management positions at prominent healthcare technology firms, including Practice Resource Network, digiChart, Artromick International, Practice Fusion, athenahealth and Curaspan Health Group.

Before joining CareCloud, Sawyer was vice president of Marketing at American Well, a telehealth technology company, where he was responsible for all corporate marketing functions, as well as its consumer marketing group, which brings telehealth services to end users, consumers, and providers in close partnership with customers.

“I am extremely excited to join such an innovative company and talented leadership team. I have spent my career developing and driving marketing initiatives across technology sectors and it’s clear that tools for medical groups are overdue for significant change,” said Sawyer.

Before American Well, Joe was responsible for industry business development for multiple strategic product lines at SAP. Joe joined SAP after several years at Accenture and Forrester Research, where he was one of the first analysts to shape the growth of consumer eCommerce.
