BT to deploy Could-based communication solution at Nutreco

BT

BT said it received a contract to install Cloud-based, Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) solution for Nutreco, an animal nutrition and fish feed maker.

BT said it will streamline Nutreco’s telephony, presence, instant messaging and conferencing capabilities onto a single cloud platform – on a pay-per-user basis – for up to 5,000 users globally.

Moreover, BT solutions enable collaboration across audio, video and web conferencing. “BT’s enterprise-grade cloud services help us avoid additional investments and are a good business case compared to the old ‘PABX world,”said Henry van de Ven, CIO Nutreco.

The new solution, based on BT One Cloud Microsoft, is also expected to deliver significant cost savings by routing international calls over BT’s global network and reducing the volume of email and voicemail as employees collaborate in real time.

The new infrastructure will be underpinned by BT’s One Voice SIP trunking service. The SIP protocol enables cost-effective call-routing, helps reduce costs by simplifying the core infrastructure and eliminates the need for investment into hardware.

Separately on Wednesday, BT announced the global availability of three new cloud-based solutions- One Cloud video, One Cloud Microsoft and One Cloud Cisco.

One Cloud video allows user-friendly video conferencing either through MeetMe video for existing BT MeetMe, Microsoft and mixed video estate customers, or through Cisco Collaboration Meeting Rooms (CMR) for customers who use WebEx.

Meanwhile, One Cloud Microsoft is designed to allow BT One Cloud Microsoft customers to easily engage into productive conferencing sessions with anyone.

With One Cloud Cisco, BT adds advanced collaboration services such as BT MeetMe with Dolby voice, Cisco WebEx and Cisco Collaboration Meeting Rooms to their One Cloud Cisco collaborate.

Given that the Cloud is offering vast possibilities, BT said it has a Cloud of Clouds vision, which is about allowing customers to connect easily and securely to the applications and data they need, regardless of where they’re hosted and where they are based.
